nice price deal !!! free usa is the first full-length album by protect-u, the washington, dc-based duo of aaron leitko and future times records co-founder mike petillo. the record was written, recorded, and mixed throughout 2013 at protect-us home studio and mastered by matt colton at alchemy mastering. the tracks on free usa were jammed into being and then laser-cut into exact shapes. on their two future times eps - double rainbow and world music - leitko and petillo poured layers of ambient drift onto nearly-steady house foundations, creating long and propulsive zone-outs.

scenes from our classic future is the realization of three songs and two projects that came together as one. as young aspiring musicians since the early age of 12, greg paulus and john camp practiced playing jazz standards into the wee small hours of the morning together. eventually the two would find themselves both in new york under new and more electronic circumstances. deeply indebted to the mastery of herbie hancock, paulus and camp would reconnect, this time with synthesizers, and continue on their musical journey together.

crimes of the future is a new label from timothy j fairplay & scott fraser, and follows on from their night of the same name at the berkeley suite, glasgow and in plastic people, london. timothy and scott both work out of andrew weatheralls basement bunker studio on scrutton street and are part of a group of djs becoming known as the scrutton street axis. timothy is also one half of the asphodells with andrew weatherall who released their first album *ruled by passion, destroyed by lust* this year on rotters golf club.
